Your lifestyle plays a key role when it comes to conception. Certain lifestyle patterns make it difficult for women to get pregnant.
We spoke to Dr. Meenakshi Sauhta, Director, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Cloudnine Group of Hospital, Gurgaon, and asked her to share health care tips for women who are struggling to get pregnant.
Eat Healthy Food
Dr. Sahuta said, "If you are trying to conceive, besides medications, there are four important things that you should always remember. One is that you need to eat healthy. However, that doesn't mean you order a salad and eat it. Firstly, eating healthy means you will have to completely stop eating outside food. Outside food contains preservatives, a lot of maida or refined flour, and many other ingredients which may be detrimental to your health. This can affect your fertility."
Eat whatever you want but you should make it at home. Have freshly cooked meals.Increase the number of fruits and vegetables in your diet. Instead of eating more roti or rice, try to eat more vegetables. All kinds of fruits and veggies are good. You should have a lot of seasonal foods.Exercise Daily
"When we recommend exercising daily, most people go and join the gym, they go there two to three times a week for an hour or so. This isn't how it should be. You should exercise at a fixed time every day. Do it for 40 minutes if not more. Out of 40 minutes, 15 minutes should be aerobics and the rest of the 30 minutes can be anything like walking or yoga," our expert added.

Have A Sleep Schedule
Next, our health expert suggested women to sleep and wake up on time. "Remember that the female body is always in sync with nature. If you go against nature, for instance, if you sleep during the day and stay awake at night then your hormones are all going to go haywire. The most common cause of infertility is women not putting their bodies in sync with nature. So, you must sleep and wake up on time. Sleep at 10-10.30 at night and wake up at six in the morning."

"As soon as you start following your sleep-wake cycle, exercise daily, and eat home-cooked food, all your hormones will start falling into place. If a woman follows these lifestyle modifications then she won't need any medications to conceive," Dr. Sahuta concluded.
