Jane Fonda doesn't have many regrets in her life, but she opened up about one parenting regret during a recent interview.

The 85-year-old screen legend explained that she wanted to "clear everything up" before dying while speaking to CNN.

When asked about any regrets in her past, she highlighted motherhood and mistakes she felt that she made with her three kids.

"I was not the kind of mother that I wished that I had been to my children," Jane explained. "I have great, great children -- talented, smart. And I just didn't know how to do it."

She continued, saying "I've studied parenting, and I know what it's supposed to be now. I didn't know then. So I'm trying to show up now."

"What I'm really scared of is getting to the end of life with a lot of regrets when there's no time to do anything about it. It's one reason I'm trying to get it all done before I come to the end," she shared.

Jane is mom to Mary Luana Williams, 55, Vanessa Vadim, 54, and Troy Garity, 49.

This isn't the first time the actress has addressed hard topics. Earlier this month she opened up about suffering from an eating disorder.
