In a blender, add all the ingredients of pickle masala and blend to get a fine mixture.
In a bowl, add pomegranate seeds, pickle masala, red chilli powder and salt to taste.
In a pan, prepare the tadka. Add a teaspoon of oil and mustard seeds. Add asafoetida and turn off the heat.
Add this tadka to the bowl of pomegranate seeds.
Squeeze in lemon juice and mix all the ingredients. Your homemade pomegranate pickle is ready!
